Conservatives: If I'd Only Known
“Schuman also said he offers to “help any conservative Instagram page that I find,” adding “had I known about the content, I would never have offered.””
So you go around blindly offering to raise money (from “older, wealthier people”) for groups who you describe as “conservative”, and then get egg on your face when the group turns out to be filled with Nazis & racists.
Here’s some suggestions I have for Mr. Schuman, the rest of the United Conservative Party of Alberta, and people who self-identify as “conservatives” everywhere:

Maybe you should stop and look before offering to support a random group, on the chance they might be filled with Nazis and racists?

Maybe you should consider whether actively Nazi & racist groups are the kind of “conservative” you want to support?

Maybe “conservatives” should be working harder to keep Nazis & racists from attaching themselves to “conservatism” OVER AND OVER AGAIN? (Protip: start by not offering to give them money.)
Start doing this, and then maybe we’ll believe you when you tell us this was an honest mistake – and not a dog-whistle, or intentional political opportunism by pandering to a vile segment of the population. But you’ve got a lot of ground to make up.
